Canada's hopes of another medal at the Women's Rugby World Cup were dashed Thursday, Aug 17, with a lopsided 48-5 loss to the defending champion New Zealand Black Ferns.

The Kiwi's scored early an often enroute to winning Pool "A" with a 3-and-0 record.

For Vulcan's DaLeaka Menin and the rest of Team Canada it means no shot at the medal round as only the three pool winners and the top second place finisher advance.

The U.S. ended up with more points than Canada, to claim the final spot in the medal round.
