Golfers rejoice!

At least one local golf course will be open this weekend as River's Edge with throw open their gates for the season.

Head Pro Kim Wilkowich says it's about time.

"You know, long overdue for all golfers, there's just so much excitement out there that everybody's just champing at the bit to get outdoors. It looks like a lot of courses in the area are opening up this week, so the golf frenzy is officially on."

The club will also be holding their annual demo days and food bank fundraiser all day Saturday, April 28, at the driving range.

"If they can bring a non-perishable food item, that would be wonderful! And if they're not able to do that they can certainly have a cash donation for the food bank."

Wilkowich says they'll be open on nine holes Friday, April 27 and the full 18 by Saturday.
