It could be a record breaking night for the Okotoks Oilers when they head to Canmore Thursday, March 1.

The Oilers are chasing the league record for consecutive wins.

Coach Tyler Deis says it's something that's just taken on a life of it's own.

"It's something that I don't think at the beginning of the year you expect to do or anything like that. But, they're playing good hockey right now. They're focused. They've got a bit of luck and now they've got the chance to do something really cool!"

The Oilers are tied for the record with the 1987-1988 Calgary Canucks at 21 straight wins.

The Oilers wind up the regular season this weekend with games at home Saturday, March 4 against the Camrose Kodiaks and then Sunday, March 5 at 4:15 p.m. when the Canmore Eagles come to Okotoks.
