Local long drive champ, Dan McIntosh, has his sights set on winning the World Long Drive Championships coming up in September in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

He says a couple of top eight finishes this year have shown him that with his skill, plus a little luck, he has a shot at the title.

"Just going down there, getting on TV a few times, getting so close to winning now it's easier to visualize winning, which is the exciting part to me is that now I can see now more than ever myself winning that title belt. So, I'm really excited about the next couple of weeks."

McIntosh had two heartbreaking losses both times he made it to the TV rounds this year, but it has helped as he's jumped from 35th all the way to 22nd in the world rankings.

The championships go at the WinStar World Casino & Resort, Thursday, August 31 to Wednesday, September 6.
