The Camrose Kodiaks made it a nail biter, but in the end the Okotoks Oilers swept them out of the playoffs with a 4-3 overtime win Tuesday, March 20, in Camrose.

Tanner Laderoute got the winner 12:08 into the extra frame.

"I just went to the net front and I knew Holly (Dylan Holloway) has great vision so, I was hoping he saw me and then right when he passed it over, I knew I was going backhand, before he even passed the puck as the goalies going to slide hard there. Because it's a hard pass too. So, I knew it was going to work out there. Hopefully he wouldn't poke check, but it worked out."

The Oilers jumped out to the lead after a scoreless first period with Blake Wells getting the games opening goal 10:05 into the second.

The Kodiaks tied up up two minutes later and then took the lead 15:29 into the second, before the Oilers Nick Blankenburg tied it up on the power play with 1:14 to go in the middle period.

The Kodiaks moved ahead 3-2 early in the third.

The Oilers who out shot Camrose 46-31 in the game, peppered Kodiaks goalie Griffin Bowerman with 12 shots in the final frame, and it paid off, once again on the power play as Dylan Holloway picked up his fourth goal of the playoffs, with just 3:19 to go.

The Oilers now head to the AJHL South Division final against either Brooks or Drumheller.

The Bandits lead the Dragons three games to one, heading into game five Friday, March 23, in Brooks.
