The Okotoks Oilers will have to settle with a win and a loss in their final weekend of regular action in the AJHL.

The team traveled to Canmore to battle the Eagles Saturday night, but came up just one goal shy of the win 5 to 4.

Canmore was in the drivers seat 4 to 2 at the end of the second period, pulling ahead 5 to 2 early in the third.

Nolan Thompson scored in the first period for the Oilers and Tanner Laderoute added one more in the second.

Carter Huber and Carson Beers got the team back in the game with two goals in the third but they weren't able to even the score before the time clock ran out.

They host the Camrose Kodiak Thursday night in the south quarterfinals.
