Blackie's Blake Wells was the hero for the Okotoks Oilers Tuesday, November 21, as they doubled down on the Bandits 6-3 in Brooks.

He scored twice, including the winner, as the Oilers won their fifth straight, and their fifth in a row over Brooks this season.

It's been a big week for Wells, as he's one of four Oilers heading to Calgary early next month for the selection camp for Team Canada West heading to the World Junior "A" Hockey Challenge in Truro, Nova Scotia starting Sunday, December 10.

He says it'd be an honour to wear the Maple Leaf.

"That was probably one of the first thoughts that went through my mind. That would be a huge honour, for me and my family. That's what you play for growing up.

The Team Canada West selection camp goes December 2-5 in Calgary.

The Oilers are home to Bonnyville Friday, November 24.
