A good turnout Saturday, February 3 at the Turner Valley Golf Club as the community came out to help raise some cash for the Jacob Libbus curling team and their trip to Sweden in April.

Coach, Mike Libbus says support for the boys has been high since they started to fundraise last May.

"It's quite and experience they're going to have going over to Sweden, going over to Europe. Not many kids get to do this, and I think people appreciate that and they're just proud this team comes from a little town of Black Diamond, Alberta."

Coach Mike Libbus says he's proud of his son, the team and the community for their support.

The team of Jacob Libbus, Liam Purcell, Pacen Anderson and Nick Warkman, will head to Sweden to compete in the Nordic Junior Curling Tour from April 23 to May 6.

But first the foursome will look to defend their Alberta U-18 Men's Provincial title as they head to Southern's this weekend in Medicine Hat.

They'll compete for one of three spots heading to Provincials in Okotoks, March 1st to the 4th.

Another Libbus, Sidney, is already qualified for Provincials, also in Okotoks the same weekend, as she'll compete for the U-18 Women's title as she's joined a team out of Peace River.
