A dozen local cowboys will be "gettin' down in the dirt" up in Edmonton starting Wednesday, November 8, as the Canadian Finals Rodeo gets rolling.

Nanton's Clay Elliot and Stavley's Sam Kelts will go for the big money in saddle bronc.

Scott Schiffner from Strathmore, along with Okotoks Jordan Hansen will compete in bull riding.

Nanton's Logan Bird goes in tie down roping, while Jeremy Buhler from Arrowwood, Rocky Dallyn from Nanton, Kasper Roy from Mossleigh, Brant's Tacy Cornet, Vulcan's Roland McFadden, and Okotoks Clint Buhler all try their luck in team roping.

And out of Arrowwood, Kole Ashbacher takes his first kick at the can in novice saddle bronc.

The CFR runs Wednesday through Sunday, November 12, at the Northlands Coliseum.
