Young baseball players in Okotoks are getting help tuning their skills from major league pros.

Tuesday marked day one of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy's Honda Super Camp Tour which kicked off at Seaman Stadium.

The camp teaches youth 9- 16 years old how to play baseball and sharpen their skills.

Jeff Holloway, program assistant with the academy, says the camp provides kids with a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"Kids here, most of which play organized baseball, have the opportunity to receive instruction from a former major league baseball player, not just one but six. That's something that isn't necessarily available to a 9-year-old baseball player on an everyday basis so it's really cool they have that instruction," he explains. "They can be better baseball players and we can produce more major league baseball players eventually."

Jays alumni Mario Diaz, Garth Iorg, Lloyd Moseby, Rance Mulliniks, Tanyon Sturtze, and Duane Ward are all at the camp in Okotoks which wraps up Wednesday.
