High River will be well represented at the U19 Rugby Canada camp next weekend in Regina.

Mitch Newman was scouted to try out for the team during the U-18 Nationals.

As a member of the Alberta Wolfpack Newman won a gold medel, defeating B.C. in the final.

He says he's not sure what to expect at the national team camp.

"Some of my other buddies have done it and they've said there's going to be lots of tackling, which is fine, you've got to tackle to win so I'm just looking forward to it," he says.

Newman says he's played since Grade 9 at Highwood High School and is getting ready with the rest of his Mustang teammates for football season before he heads to the Team Canada camp Sept. 15 to 17.
