The High River Heat of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League are looking back at the 2017 season as a successful one.

They moved up to Tier II this year, and Coach Larry Makortoff says it worked out well.

"We set a goal at the start of the year to be .500 at the end and like I say, we were two games above .500. We won a playoff round. And I think we could have won the second one (against the Lethbridge Barracudas). We just fell a little short, ran out of gas and one periods usually gets us. And that's the second period and it got us in both games."

Makortoff says unfortunately they'll lose five players to graduation this year, along with Team Manager Erica Glassford.
