High River chuckwagon driver Jason Glass has been suffering through something that usually doesn't affect him.

Mediocrity.

Glass says heading into the 2018 season he needs to up his game.

"I know I haven't been good enough the last couple of years, and that's the bottom line. So, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to be better. I'm going to be more competetive. You know one way or another, I've got to be tougher and get back up near the top."

In the meantime, Glass is looking forward to getting the season started, but he's just as excited to get rid of all this snow.

He says even though he's not out training yet, his horses are getting a workout.

"With this deep snow, they're in pretty good shape. I feed way out in the fields, and they've got to truck through the snow to get to their hay and then come back in for their water. And you know they get fed the top feed and they're moving. So, they're in not too bad a shape. So we'll be OK."

Glass is still one of the top guys in the sport, as he pulled in $100,000 at last weeks Calgary Stampede Canvas Auction.

He won the Stampede crown back in 2013.
