High River's Jason Glass has his fingers crossed for a better year for chuckwagon driver's at this years Calgary Stampede Canvas Auction which goes Thursday, March 23, at the Archie Boyce Theatre at Stampede Park.
Glass says he's sensing optimism among potential sponsors.
"This year, there's some more activity going on out there. It kind of allows a few companies to get involved, for a little lower dollar the last couple of years. So, hopefully they come back this year and a little bit stronger."
The WPCA Tarp Auction is set for Thursday, April 6, with the Ponoka Auction going Friday, May 5.
The chucks start to roll Wednesday, May 31, at the Grande Prairie Stompede.
