The High River Flyers open the home portion of their Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League schedule at home Friday night.

Coach Tyson Avery says it should be a lot of fun.

"We have Mayor Snodgrass, he's going to drop the puck for us and we have a few other activities up front that the fans can use and enjoy. We're just trying to make it fun for everyone who comes out," he says.

The Blackfalds Wranglers provide the competition and Avery doesn't expect it'll be an easy game.

"If they're anything like last year they'll be a good team, they always come in strong and play you hard," Avery says. "They're another good organization that you can't take lightly, you have to always be ready for them, they keep you on your toes, they're a good strong team usually."

The Flyers are coming off a close 3-2 loss to the always tough Coaldale Copperheads last weekend.

Avery says goalie Dylan Jensen played a really great game stopping 36 shots.

"Dylan was a solid guy back there for us, (he was) what we needed at the times we needed it and he gave us a chance to win," he says.

Puck drop is set for eight o'clock at the Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex.
