The High River Flyers wrap up the 2017 portion of their Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League schedule Friday, December 22, at home when they face the Cochrane Generals.

If the Flyers can pick up the two points, they'll head into the Christmas break in first place in the South Division, something Coach Tyson Avery is keenly aware of.

"We noticed that. All the guys noticed that and have been talking about it. But we to get through Cochrane. They're a good team and they have a great coach. You know and they're not going to take us lightly and we're not going to take them lightly. So, it'll be a good game Friday night and hopefully we can get the win and move into first place."

Avery says after sweeping their three games last weekend the boys have a bit of swagger.

"They're confident, we don't want them to be over-confident right? So, we're trying to keep them on Earth here. That confidence is coming in all areas of the game. You can see it, even with the young guys, they're starting to get that confidence to make plays that we were trying to get them to make during the start of the season but now they're starting to make them and it's just starting to click."

They hit the ice at 8 o'clock at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.
