High River's Jordie Fike's looking forward to starting the WPCA season, which gets rolling Wednesday, May 30, at the Grande Prairie Stompede.

Fike's coming off barrel four in heat four and says that's a great way to start the show.

"It's kind of nice for the first night jitters, you just come out and see where you end up and if you're lucky enough to catch the rail, you just go for it. But there's going to be some big names in there (heat four) and the fourth heat is generally fast up here. So, we're excited and we hope a little luck goes our way and our hard work pays off."

Fike goes head to head with Troy Dorchester, Mitch Sutherland and Darcy Flad.

The four fastest wagons after four days square off in the "dash for cash" Sunday, June 3.
