The Okotoks Dawgs drew first blood in their opening round WMBL playoff series against the Edmonton Prospects Tuesday, August 1, at Seaman Stadium as they won 8-2 in a rain shortened game.

Matt Lloyd led the way at the plate for the Dawgs as he had a double, three RBI's and a stolen base on the night.

Dawgs ace, Anthony Balderas, got the win, giving up just two runs on five hits in his five-plus innings of work.

The Dawgs and Prospects line up for game two in the best of five series Wednesday, August 2, starting at 7:05 p.m.
