The Okotoks Dawgs celebrate 10 years at Seaman Stadium starting Friday, June 2, when the Medicine Hat Mavericks come to town.

Dave Robb was the Manager of the team back then and says he remembers that opening game clearly.

"I remember Matt Wilson on the mound and the rainbow in the background, because it rained that night. That was just exceptional! I know we lost too. And then we end up and winning the title. We set a tradition that night of losing our opener and then going on to win the championship."

In fact the Dawgs would go on to win three straight WMBL titles in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

And Robb says he feels they can win it all again this year too.

"I think we're going to win it. I really do. if everybody can stay, because that's an issue too, if everybody can stay until the end, we have the manpower to just go out and win it."

Robb says his pitching depth is the best it's been in years, which will be a big part of the Dawgs success.

They'll look to start chasing that 2017 title starting at 7:05 p.m. Friday.

The Dawgs have unveiled a "new look" for "Diggity" for their 10th Anniversary season.

Third year Dawgs pitcher C.J. Lewington will get the start for the Dawgs in their home opener Friday against Medicine Hat.
