The Okotoks Dawgs gave out their player awards over the weekend at their annual banquet and fundraiser.

On hand was the team's Pitcher of the Year, Tyler Burdett, who admits he'd never heard of Okotoks before coming here in the Summer of 2016.

"I looked it up on line and I saw all the fan support and it looked amazing, so I was like "Yup, let me go there." It was nothing short of amazing. So I was asked back for the Summer of 2017 and it was another amazing Summer with the Dawgs."

Burdett, the teams closer, finished with a league leading 13 saves and a 0.75 ERA.

Matt Lloyd picked up the Rookie of the Year Award, as finished the season with a .402 batting average and a handful of Player of the Week Awards.

Kody Funderburk and his 15 home runs was the teams MVP, while Eddie Sanchez picked up the "True Grit" Award.
