On December 8 in the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League, it was a nail bitter at the Bob Snodgrass Rec-plex, as the battle between the middling Strathmore Wheatland Kings and the defending High River Flyers went into overtime.

Unfortunately for the Flyers they drop the game in a shootout loss, as the Kings take the game 7-6.

There's little time for the Flyers to rest, as they hit the road to Medicine Hat to take on the Cubs on December 8 at the Kinplex Arena.

The Cubs are coming off a rough loss to the Okotoks Bisons on Sunday December 2, where they were shut out 9-0.

As for the Bisons, they fared better in their pairing last night, boasting a solid win over the Cochrane Generals.

Final score of the night was a 5-2 decision for the Bisons who hosted the game in the Murray Arena.

The Bisons are scheduled to head over to Cochrane on December 9 to take on the Generals again at 5:30 p.m.

As for the Lakers, they dropped their matchup against the Blackfalds Wranglers in their pairing on December 8.

The final score of that game was 6-2 for the Wranglers, in the Bassano Arena.

The Lakers next opponent is the red-hot Red Deer Vipers, who sit second on the North Division standings.

That game goes at 8 p.m. on December 8, at the Servus Arena.
