The Canadian Junior Hockey League has nominated Okotoks Oilers defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker for the league's top defenceman of the year award.

Docker, who was named the AJHL's top blue liner, is also the league's highest ranked draft prospect heading into this summer's NHL draft, as he's tagged at 33rd overall.

He won a gold medal as part of Team Canada West at the World Junior Hockey Challenge in December and will play in the CJHL Prospects Game this coming January.

Bernard-Docker, who's just 17, has committed to the University of North Dakota.
