No sooner do we get into December and the first big event arrives.

Kaylee D"Andrea with the Salvation Army is hoping a lot of the Christmas spirit from Friday's parade carries over.

"We are very excited to be doing a toy drive at Canadian Tire on December 3rd from 10:00 to 4:00 and anyone that brings a toy will get a free lunch and we are also very excited because Canadian Tire is going to match all of our donations this year," she says.

It's not just toys they're looking for but items for young teens like Bluetooth headphones, fuzzy blankets, socks, mitts, hats, t-shirts and music cards like iTunes.

Sun Country 99.7 and the Eagle 100.9 will be on hand throughout the day along with the High River RCMP and Fire Department to collect toys and gifts.

It goes from 10:00 until 4:00 Saturday, Dec. 3.
