Smile Cookie week lived up to its name, putting smiles on lots of faces across the country, including in southern Alberta.

Kevin Generoux, the owner of the Tim Horton's restaurants in High River and Claresholm says they raised about $13,500 dollars, up about 18 per cent from last year.

He says their orange donuts will be available Friday September 30th, for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

"All of the proceeds will be going to the Orange Shirt Society and the Residential School Support groups that are across Canada," he says. "Half of the donut sales in Saskatchewan are going to the Cree Nation as well so they're giving back through the one-day of support tomorrow."

He says even if you don't get a donut you can still make a donation to a very worthwhile cause.
