A fire at a home in High River Saturday night is considered accidental.

Fire Chief Cody Zebedee says the department got the call at about 6:30 and were on scene at #19, 2 Ave. S.E. within four minutes.

"When we got there all the occupants were safely exited the building and were accounted for and crews went to work containing the fire and preventing any spread to any structures around it," he says.

He says it appears the fire started outside at the back of the house and made its way inside through the windows at the back of the home.

There's extensive damage.

"There's lots of smoke damage on the inside and the kitchen took quite a bit of heat but as far as items inside there's going to be a tremendous amount of smoke damage to personal belongings inside the home," Zebedee says.

He says crews were able to get the fire under control and out by about 9:00 p.m. and they left one unit at the home in case of any flare-ups.
