Two charity events took place today, both great causes and both had great participation.

Many days we are reminded what a great community we have here in Okotoks.

Today was one of those days.

You know it's a good day when one charity event rides past another charity event where everyone knows everyone and greet each other with lots of waves and cheers, and when participants from both events say they wholeheartedly support the other cause.

The 35th annual Terry Fox Run saw about 120 participants run, walk, bike, push strollers, and wheel on the 2km, 4km, or 8km trail around town. It was great to see so many people with their dogs participating too. All to help raise money for cancer research, and raise money they did! About $4000!

Everyone came back to the Crystal Shores Beach House after the run and enjoyed free hot dogs and water courtesy once again this year from the lovely people at Okotoks Fountain Tire. Thanks also to Okotoks Tim Hortons for the free coffee and hot chocolate.
