A meat market that started selling out of the back of a truck celebrates its second anniversary this weekend.
Grant Hirsche with Hirsche-Fraser meats says the B-S-E crisis forced them to take action.
Hirsche says it was a frustrating time.
"We were selling our beef for less than a quarter of what we were prior B-S-E times and yet the consumer was paying as much as they ever had in history", he says, "and so we started selling to friends and it kind of multiplied from that".
Hirsche-Fraser Meats are celebrating the second anniversary of their storefront location in Okotoks.
