If you noticed something familiar about episode three of The Last of Us from last Sunday, you're probably from High River.

The house and compound where character 'Bill' played by Nick Offerman was set in is the former neighbourhood of Beachwood Estates.

The neighbourhood was flooded in the spring of 2013 and once everyone was evacuated it was never used again until The Last of Us had the chance to film there.

The filming took place during July and October of 2021.

Another scene from episode three was also shot in Priddis, just west of Calgary.

The Last of Us HBO series airs a new episode every Sunday night on Crave TV in Canada.
