Kayden Rawji gave Canmore the lead with a power play goal just under halfway through the first, giving the home side an advantage despite a 16-7 shot advantage for Okotoks after the first.

Hellyer drove the offence in the second period, however, tying the game as he streaked to the net and took a pass from Zeth Kindrachuk (Calgary, AB), settled the puck down and roofed it past goalie Matthew Malin for a 1-1 tie. Just over four minutes later, Hellyer jammed home a rebound at the right  side of the net on the power play for the eventual game-winner.

The Oilers held firm in the third, including successfully killing off a 1:40 long 5-on-3 penalty kill, and got an empty netter from Kindrachuk late in the period to seal the win, outshooting Canmore 38-28 in the process.

The team will return home Friday night to host the Olds Grizzlys at 7 PM at Centennial Arena; tickets are available online at tickets.okotoksoilers.ca

All Okotoks Oilers away games are broadcast on The Eagle 100.9.
