We've been hearing loud and clear how many farmers feel in regards to the Liberals' proposed tax changes for small business.

There's been concerns that the proposed changes would make it more difficult for farmers to pass their farms onto the younger generation.

On Friday, Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay spoke about the issue.

"Of course I have a voice in cabinet and I think the farmers appreciate that, but what I've indicated to the farmers and anybody that has talked to me is to make sure that concerns or suggestions, as it would be in this case, are brought to the Minister of Finance and I expect that that's what they're doing."

The public consultation period closes October 2, 2017.

MacAulay addressed the media Friday where he was speaking at the U.S. National Association of State Departments of Agriculture Annual Meeting.
