The Dawgs traveled up to Sylvan Lake to take on the Gulls to kickstart their nine-game road trip and continued their stellar play, improving to 9-0 on the season.

The Dawg's offense started hot in the first inning where they scored three runs and paired that with a monster seventh inning, scoring an additional four runs that would put the game out of reach.

The Dawgs faced some adversity early in the game when Starting Pitcher Brendan Woods left the game earlier than expected however, The Dawg's relief pitching was ready to go and minimized the Gull's chances, playing a major role in the Dawgs' 7-0 victory.

The Dawg's scoring came in the first and seventh inning, where they scored all seven runs. Tucker Zdunich started the scoring in the first by driving in the first run of the game for the Dawgs. Outfielder Ruben Cedillo started his second game of the year and made his presence known by blasting a two-run homer, putting the Dawgs up 3-0 at the end of the first. McCoy Pearce blew the game wide open in the 7th, with a bases-clearing double that scored three runs extending the Dawg's lead to 7.

The Dawg's lead was never in question as they cruised to a 7-0 victory. Brendan Woods started the game on the mound for the Dawgs but left after recording two outs in the first inning. Zach Robinson came in and shut the Gulls down pitching 5.2 innings, surrendering only 1 hit and recording 3 strikeouts. The Dawg's relief pitching was ready to go and efforts from Penner, Brooks, and Hermann limited the Gulls to only four hits in the game and helped secure the team's fourth shutout of the season.

The Dawgs will travel to Fort McMurray for a four-game series vs the Giants at Legacy Dodge Field and look to keep their perfect season alive. The Dawgs will finish the weekend in Fort McMurray before heading east to Saskatchewan for the second half of their tumultuous road trip.
