A day of fun was planned for families today in Okotoks! Kids and their families were encouraged to come down to the Okotoks Curling Rink for one big play date today.

The goal of this particular play date was to raise money for the Canadian Angelmans Syndrome Society. This society dedicates their time and funds to help conquer Angelmans Syndrome (AS). AS is a neurogenetic disorder that results in developmental delays, and many kids suffer from seizures as well. However, these kids are a bright spot in our community because they are very happy, and always have a big smile on their face. They are a joy to be around!

It is estimated that there are about 15 families who have a child with Angelmans Syndrome around Calgary and area.

Money was raised through a bake sale, silent auction, and a delicious beef on a bun lunch.

There were many fun activities for the kids to enjoy, such as bouncy castles, face painting, and ring tosses. There was also live entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

It was great to meet these kids, and have an opportunity to support families in our community!
