The 7th Annual Foothills Highland Games in Okotoks popped up in town on Saturday.

All your favorite Scottish traditions came to the Foothills Composite High School for the day.

The festivities kicked off bright and early at 7am, with highland dancing and heavy events competition. From then on it was a jam-packed schedule of more dancing, more competitions, re-enactments, and live band performances.

All those in attendance got to view great dancing, traditional Scottich competitions, good food, and all while being serenaded by the sound of bagpipes.

This year was a special one for the Foothills Highland Games, as they were also the host for the Canadian Championship Heavy Games Competition. They had competitors from all over Canada arriving in Okotoks to compete.

It was a great day of Scottish culture, and we can't wait for it again next year!
